Heather's Dress, August, 2000
This was my own wedding gown, which was exciting to make. The bodice and underskirt are made from silk dupioni, and the gathered overskirt is made from silk organza. I was inspired by a picture in a magazine, and I added my own style to it. The overskirt has a band of silk dupioni with lace motifs hand-sewn on the hem. There are also two pieces of the lace motif at the waist where the overskirt starts. There are buttons down the back, which are covered in silk dupioni.
