This gown was made for an Irish Country dancer. She wanted a traditional wedding dress, but also something she could wear to dance the night away after the ceremony. The dress is made from the lace and skirt of her mother's wedding gown. Extra satin was purchased to match the fabric in her mother's dress. The neckline is a scalloped sweetheart with a keyhole back. The overskirt was the original skirt on her mother's dress. It overlaps in the front, creating a petal look, which is reflected in the sleeves. The skirt underneath is a swirl skirt, made from many individual pieces.
